Whitehall has no plans for further interventions

The Government has insisted it has no plans to launch further interventions after sending in commissioners to Rotherham MBC and Tower Hamlets LBC.

Responding to the Communities and Local Government Committee’s report on the interventions, Marsham Street said it was ‘acutely conscious of the seriousness of intervening in a democratically-elected local authority’.
