Scotland's system of financial governance has helped avoid local authority financial failure, the chair of its funding watchdog has suggested.

Unlike in England, where 30 councils have received Exceptional Financial Support in 2025-26, no Scottish local authority has had to go to the Government for extra funding to balance budgets.
