Brokenshire leaves Cabinet after Johnson arrival

Local government secretary James Brokenshire has announced he will be ‘heading to the backbenches’.

Mr Brokenshire, who was appointed secretary of state last April, has spent 13 years on the front bench, including nine in Government.
