Brokenshire takes leave for lung surgery

Former communities secretary James Brokenshire has stepped back from his current ministerial role to have surgery on a lung tumour.

Now security minister at the Home Office, Mr Brokenshire joined the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government after he stepped down as Northern Ireland secretary in 2018 to have treatment for lung cancer.
