Business leaders make planning plea

Business leaders have demanded ‘properly resourced and upskilled local planning departments’ so carbon reduction and nature can be at the heart of the planning system.

The letter to the Government, which has been signed by property firms Berkeley Group, British Land, Capital & Counties and Willmott Dixon, called for the new Planning Bill to ‘align directly with, and support, the UK’s net zero target and ambitions for nature set out in the Environment Bill’.
