Call for outcome focus as DToC pressure reduces

Health and social care systems should increase their focus on outcomes for individuals as Whitehall softens its threats around delayed transfer of care (DToC) figures, a report today has suggested.

The call for systems to ensure they are reviewing their long-term discharge decisions comes after a report by consultancy Newton, commissioned by the national partners of the Integration and Better Care Fund, carried out deep-dives of 14 systems that had recorded poor DToC figures.
