A first-of-its-kind development programme designed to meet the needs and future challenges of chief executives from councils across the country has been opened to applications.

The local government chief executives' development framework has been drawn up by senior officers' group Solace and the Local Government Association (LGA) in partnership with more than 100 chiefs, councillors and other key stakeholders.
