The Government should commit to a coherent combined housing and homelessness strategy, a report published today by a commission of experts has urged after a year-long investigation.
Other key recommendations in the final report of the Local Government Homelessness Commission include local variation of housing allowance, the introduction of minimum three-year tenancies for the private rented sector and the creation of a homelessness prevention toolkit designed around the needs of local government.
