Community tensions rise amid Coronavirus outbreak

Reports of increasing community tensions ‘across multiple areas’ have been picked up by the Government as the international Coronavirus crisis continues to worsen.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s (MHCLG) integration and communities directorate has said there have been ‘increasing numbers’ of hate incidents and discrimination directed against the Chinese community.
