A senior sector figure has called for council tax reform as local authorities continued to pass their budgets for 2022-23 amid concerns about their medium-term financial sustainability.

Director of local government finance and improvement at London Councils, Paul Honeyben, told The MJ it was ‘not healthy in any funding system' to be so reliant on the tax, which he argued was in need of reform.
