As inflation is set to peak by Christmas – its highest rate in 40 years – all councils face a bleak time.
For districts the problem will be amplified. By our very nature, we are smaller, with smaller budgets and therefore, you could argue, more susceptible to volatility than other types of council. While all councils face difficulties, districts often have less wriggle-room to overcome a jolt.
