Creating a ‘great outdoors’ for our urban centres

The pandemic has shown us the advantages of spending more time in the great outdoors. Walks in the countryside and this country’s great parks became a routine activity for many in the past year. But as life slowly returns to normal it is vital we take a look at the potential of that other vitally important open space: the city centre.

The nation’s high streets were already under immense pressure before COVID first gripped the country some 18 months ago. The virus merely made the problem worse.
