Croydon in fresh unaccompanied asylum-seeking children plea

Croydon LBC has urged the Government to make up its historic funding gap in the cost of caring for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC).

The council has been landed with responsibility for more than 5,000 UASCs over the last decade due to the location of a Home Office immigration centre in Croydon town centre.
