Cuts to renewable energy plans could be ‘devastating’

Local government leaders have called on the Government to help shield councils from the full impact of its plans to cut renewable energy subsidies.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change has launched an eight-week consultation on the Feed In Tariff (FIT), which guarantees a payment for every kilowatt generated by renewable energy projects over a 25-year period.
