Davies takes forced mergers off table

Wales’ cabinet secretary for local government Alun Davies has taken forced council mergers off the table.

Speaking at the Welsh Local Government Association conference yesterday, Mr Davies softened his stance on reorganisation though told councils they needed to ‘embrace change’.
