Devolution is coming home

This week, the leaders of the Core Cities gathered in Glasgow to sign our Charter for Local Freedoms.

Launched as we enter the 800th anniversary year of the Magna Carta, our charter sets out to redefine the relationship between Whitehall and local government and identifies the fiscal and functional freedoms we need so our cities can reach their full potential.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all document; we know some cities are further down the devolution road than others, but we believe it gives any new government committed to city devolution a framework to move forward on the city devolution agenda.
