EXCLUSIVE: Birmingham chief recruitment process stalls at 11th hour

By Heather Jameson | 07 December 2020

Birmingham City Council has stalled in another recruitment process in a bid to find a permanent chief executive.

The appointment was on the agenda at a council meeting last week, with current interim chief Chris Naylor expected to be announced as the successful candidate, but a decision was postponed.

Mr Naylor, who is currently on secondment from Barking and Dagenham LBC, is believed to have gone through a recruitment process and was expected to be recommended for the job before the process was halted at the 11th hour.
