Council chiefs have offered to co-produce detailed data to persuade the Treasury to ease the mounting pressures facing local government, The MJ understands.
The influential nine-strong group of local authority chief executives has told senior Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) officials they would be happy to work with them to gather the data needed to make their case.
