Council chiefs have called on the Government to work with them to co-produce a workforce strategy similar to those for the NHS and civil service.

Writing in The MJ, president of chief executives' organisation Solace, Joanne Roney, laid out demands for a ‘sustained commitment to ensuring councils have the right capacity, capability and diversity in their workforce'.
