District council leaders have warned county deals will fail unless local government secretary Michael Gove gives them an equal role in devolution.
In an email to members of the District Councils’ Network (DCN), the organisation’s chairman and vice-chairs said there had been a ‘total lack of engagement’ from the Government and they were now ‘pushing hard’ for a meeting with Mr Gove.
