EXCLUSIVE: Lincoln and Stevenage latest to make Section 114 warning

Lincoln City Council and Stevenage BC have become the latest local authorities to warn ministers they may soon have to consider issuing a Section 114 notice.

In a letter to local government secretary, Robert Jenrick, Lincoln said the risk of it issuing a s114 was ‘real’.

The letter from leader Cllr Ric Metcalf, seen by The MJ, said the council had ‘no confidence’ that it would be able to balance its books with ‘sufficiently resilient’ levels of reserves next year.
