The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is pushing ahead with demanding data on exit payments from councils despite criticism of the proposals.
MHCLG is understood to be keen to get the data back from councils by the end of this month ahead of a cross-departmental ministerial summit in June.
