With less than a week left before the General Election, the chief executive of the Local Government Association (LGA) has highlighted ‘it’s councils and councillors who are trusted to shape what goes on locally’.
Mark Lloyd told Future Forum North the LGA’s quarterly surveys of the public’s attitudes to councils and councillors have remained high since September 2012 in the face of austerity. 84% said they were satisfied with their local area as a place to live both then, and again in October 2019.
