Government to strengthen community role in planning

The Government has made clear it intends to strengthen the role of communities in new planning legislation.

Responding to the Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee’s report on the future of the planning system in England, ministers committed to ‘strengthening the role of neighbourhood planning’ so communities have ‘better opportunities to influence future development in their area’.
