Health secretary Jeremy Hunt ‘could face his IDS moment’

A former Downing Street health adviser has said health secretary Jeremy Hunt faces a tough choice of whether to resign because a lack of NHS funding may endanger patient safety.

Professor Chris Ham, head of the King’s Fund think-tank, said Mr Hunt would have to ‘examine his conscience’ about remaining as health secretary since improvements he introduced after the Mid Staffs scandal are under threat.
