LGA: Audit committee improvements needed

Improvements to ‘off the pace’ audit committees can and need to be made, the Local Government Association (LGA) has admitted.

The LGA has agreed to work with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and other sector organisations to ‘improve the role and effectiveness of audit committees, including helping them to respond better to the issue of financial sustainability’.
