Legal battle or virtual meetings fast-tracked to meet May deadline

The legal battle to allow virtual meetings to continue after 6 May has taken a step forward after a hearing agreed to fast-track proceedings.

A case brought by the Association of Democratic Service Officers, Lawyers in Local Government and Hertfordshire CC were given permission to expedite their claim for a high court declaration on whether virtual meetings can go ahead after the temporary legislation expires.
