MPs are increasingly interested in local government issues

Local government lobby groups have been consistently demanding a long-term funding solution for social care. They now have the backing of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which last week published a damning report highlighting the ‘precarious state’ of care.

The findings of the report will come as little surprise to those working in and around the sector, but the committee’s influence will help build momentum behind the campaign to fix the sector, which the PAC says ‘could soon be on its knees’.
