MPs say Test and Trace was expensive failure

The NHS Test and Trace (NHST&T) was an expensive flop that relied too much on consultants and did not stop the spread of coronavirus, MPs have said.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) concluded that despite being given an ‘eye-watering’ budget of £37bn over two years, ‘it has not achieved its main objective to help break chains of COVID-19 transmission and enable people to return towards a more normal way of life’.
