Much is still to be done on building safety

The recent fire at a six-storey block of flats in Barking demonstrated the enormous work that still needs to be done to ensure people can sleep safely at night in all types of homes across the country.

Since the Grenfell Tower tragedy, the Local Government Association has made the case for fundamental reform of our broken building regulations system, so we were pleased to see the Government launch a consultation on how to implement recommendations made by Dame Judith Hackitt.
