New leader for LGA Labour after McMahon by-election victory

Labour’s Jim McMahon has set up a departure from local government after winning the Oldham and West Royton by-election.

Leader of both Oldham MBC and the Local Government Association (LGA) Labour Group, Mr McMahon last night won a sweeping victory at the polls, increasing the share of Labour’s vote in the constituency by 7.49%.
