OFSTED

Ofsted to visit councils and children's social care providers

Ofsted will resume its visits to local authorities and children's social care providers from September, but these will result in a set of findings rather than a graded judgement.

Ofsted has today published new guidance for local authorities and the children's social care providers it regulates and inspects on how its resumed visits will work in practice.

Full inspections of local authorities will not resume until January 2021 at the earliest, while routine inspections of social care providers, such as children's homes, are on hold until April 2021.
