Parish pressure over council tax support

Billing authorities are facing increased Government pressure to hand parish councils cash to fund local council tax support schemes.

The Government has asked chief finance officers of billing authorities for their views on the issue after parishes complained they were failing to pass down a share of local council tax support to their towns and parishes.
