Pickles in council charges crackdown

Eric Pickles has gone on the offensive over council charges, with new guidance on car parking and plans to prevent local authorities from billing for use of household waste recycling centres (HWRC).

The communities secretary has announced he wants to end the ‘war on drivers’ by giving them 10 minutes grace before being fined when their tickets expire in council-owned car parks in England.
