Rush for school formula may result in cuts to funding

Schools are being rushed into planning a new funding formula aimed at distributing support more fairly, local government education spokesman Roy Perry has warned.

Writing in this week’s MJ, Cllr Perry, the Local Government Association’s (LGA) children and young people’s spokesman, said the new formula would lead to some schools facing a reduction in funding and it should be phased in to protect them and their pupils.
