Treasury figures revealing that people living in Scotland receive £1,600 in state spending per head more than their peers in England have led to renewed calls to overhaul the Barnett funding formula.

According to Treasury figures for 2010/11, Scots were set to receive £10,212 per head compared with £8,588, on average, for people in England.
