Slough Council’s chief executive this week urged other sector bosses to ‘trust your intuition’ to avoid their local authority following in her Section 114 footsteps.
The over-extended council last week became the second local authority in less than a year to issue a dreaded Section 114 notice after its borrowing quadrupled from around £180m to £760m in five years.
