Staff shortages leaving care at ‘breaking point’

Social care pressures and demand are ‘higher than ever before’ amid a national workforce shortage, the Government has been warned.

The dire situation has been highlighted by an incident on the Isle of Wight, where council workers had to be drafted in when a provider said it would be unable to provide care for 25 people.
