Surrey to pause out-of-county purchases

Surrey CC has paused making property purchases outside the county amid ongoing furore that councils are taking on too much risk by developing extensive portfolios.

Senior councillors have decided they will focus on developing vacant buildings within the county to address residents’ concerns that these sites are not contributing to the council’s financial health.
