The pressure is building to talk less about climate change and do more

Recently, chief executives from county authorities met for one of the Association of County Chief Executives’ (ACCE) regular business meetings. It was the best attended meeting for some time.

Why was this? Well, one of the reasons, I suspect, was a session on climate change. Widely recognised as the greatest leadership challenge facing our generation, local authorities have a vital role in the solutions. Councils generate significant emissions and are leaders of place – a powerful motivation to step up, and quickly.
