The web of deceit

As more of our lives and more of our money move online crime has followed. According to the Office of National Statistics, the majority of crimes are now committed online: there were 7.6 million cyber crimes in England and Wales in 2014, compared to 6.5 million offline. Cyber crime is not just fast growing but evolving fast as it keeps pace with changes in technology.

That’s why Theresa May’s move to give police forces the power to recruit volunteers to a wider range of roles, including helping to investigate cyber crime, is the right move at the right time.
