Timpson: Give councils freedom to deliver services differently

Councils are to be given new freedoms to transfer children’s social care services to mutuals and other not-for-profit organisations.

The new regulations, which are to be introduced in the autumn, are outlined today in the Government’s response to the recent consultation on powers to delegate social care functions.
