Tourist hotspots see biggest boost from 'freedom day'

Northern towns and tourist hotspots have seen the biggest rise in footfall since ‘freedom day’, while London is lagging behind, data has revealed.

An analysis by think tank the Centre for Cities found night-time footfall in the UKs 63 largest towns and cities was up 16% after restrictions lifted, while daytime footfall fell by 1% in the last week of July.
