Unions prepare to submit 'substantial' pay claim

Trade unions are preparing to ask central government to fund a ‘substantial’ pay rise for council workers in 2021/22, The MJ understands.

GMB national secretary Rehana Azam said the unions wanted a ‘substantial increase that recognises the contribution of our members’.
