Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, says his ‘gut feeling' is that the 10pm curfew for pubs and hospitality venues is 'probably doing more harm than good'.
The earlier closure time ‘creates an incentive for people to gather in the street or more probably to gather in the home,' according to Mayor Burham, who said in an interview with the BBC: ‘That is the opposite of what our local restrictions here are trying to do so I don't think this has been fully thought through to be honest.'
