And finally, it was good to see Brent LBC finally recognise former South African president Nelson Mandela this week by giving him the freedom of the London borough.

Mr Mandela was originally put forward for the award back in 1990, but not enough councillors voted in favour of the accolade at the time. Fortunately, councillors met this week to right that particular wrong and now Mr Mandela has become only the second person in the borough's history to have the honour.
