500% rise in unregistered and illegal home use

The number of vulnerable children in care placed in unregistered and illegal homes has shot up by 500% in three years, data released by watchdog Ofsted has shown.

The number of vulnerable children in care placed in unregistered and illegal homes has shot up by 500% in three years, data released by watchdog Ofsted has shown.

Ofsted said the number had increased from 144 in 2021 to 931 this year.
