Amey records £428m loss

A costly highways contract with Birmingham City Council has contributed to a pre-tax loss of £428m for outsourcing firm Amey.

Revenue increased by 5.7% from £2.2m to £2.32m compared to the first half of 2018 and the company achieved a pre-tax profit of £208,000 before exceptionals.
