Audit watchdog mauls firms for 'poor quality' work

The biggest auditors in the UK have come in for sharp criticism from the industry watchdog.

In its latest audit quality review, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) said that ‘poor quality audit work remains unacceptably common’ after finding a quarter of assessed audits were below an acceptable standard.
