BCP in finance talks with ministers

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council is in talks with the Government as it attempts to balance its books.

It is understood the authority has asked for a capitalisation direction to fund its transformation programme.

Officers confirmed in a meeting yesterday leader Drew Mellor has held conversations with ministers and was awaiting ‘clarity’ on whether the request would be granted after Michael Gove was replaced with Greg Clark as secretary of state.
